As the mighty Zambezi river flows towards the Indian Ocean, rock strata cause the river to abruptly change direction and simultaneously carve deep into the earth – The Smoke that Thunders. One of the largest waterfalls on earth, Victoria Falls spans a massive 5,604 feet across, with variations of the edge ranging from the Devil’s Cataract to Devil’s Pool, a natural infinity pool caused by a natural wall along the edge of the falls.
Sounds like a fun place…
Due to the slippery rocks, the potential for sudden rises in the level of the river and force of the flow, and the long, long drop, this is considered by many to be the most dangerous infinity pool in the world. I tend to agree with that!
